The Burn Proof Gear Blast Device Cover is designed to fit the Surefire Warden Blast Shield (they’ve changed the name more times than we can count) or any similar blast diffuser that is 1.5″ in diameter and 3.5″ in length. The Burn Proof Gear Covers are designed to be 0.5 inches longer than the suppressor itself. The Blast Shield Cover is exactly 3.5″ long which allows the cover to solely cinch around the rear of the blast diffuser to ensure a “No-Slip Fit” while keeping the fabric safe from the large blasts. Since the Blast Shield does not reach suppressor temperatures, we recommend a maximum firing schedule of intermittent full auto or 200 rounds within a 20 minute period. It is compatible with all rifle caliber suppressors (.333, 300 BLK, .308, 5.56 NATO, 7.63 NATO).
Once the cover is installed the outer diameter should not exceed 1.75 inches. The cover weighs less than 1 ounces and is rated to 800 F. The Kevlar variant Blast Device Covers resist the extreme heat generated from the warden and enable the operator to transition from rifle to pistol confidently without burning their legs, pants, or other gear. If you order a Blast Device Cover with Cordura exterior, that layer will have a 450 F maximum heat rating. Covers drastically reduce heat mirage seen on precision rifles and any IR emitted in night operations. The Burn Proof Gear covers withstand the most rigorous abuse. They are combat proven, made in the USA, and are lifetime guaranteed.
